As part of Covlance’s High Shrinking Series, our Heat Shrinkable Bell & Spigot (socket) is a reliable and trustworthy product for protecting pipelines from corrosion.
They are a 2-layer construction, consisting of a visco-elastic adhesive sealant layer and a thick-walled, irradiation cross-linked high-density polyethylene backing layer. These are commonly used on steel or ductile iron pipes coated with polyethylene or concrete, but can also be used on other coatings such as paint or zinc.
The product lines include MEPS, HEPS, MPSM, and TIS – all of which are high expansion and high recovery products with specific uses across various conditions, including bell & spigot joints. In addition, they can also be used for coat reducers, bends, and dielectric joints.
The Heat Shrinkable Bell & Spigot (socket) has a low pre-heat and does not require any special application equipment. The high shrink-ratio backing reduces in size to form a tight and clean fit coating around the joint. Highly resilient and simple to install, the product allows for excellent productivity while keeping costs low.
